History of The Carmel School

The Carmel School (formerly Carmel Christian Academy) was established in 1986 as part of Carmel Baptist Church in Ruther Glen, VA. Incorporated in September, 1999, the school provides education for Pre-Kindergarten through Twelfth grade, and is committed to its goal of academic excellence in a Christian environment.

With success came growth, and the needs of the student and faculty population expanded beyond what could be provided by Carmel Baptist Church. The school purchased land and began construction on the new campus, located at 9020 Jericho Road in Ruther Glen. The doors opened in 2007, and currently houses a student body of approximately 90 students.

The Carmel School strives to build upon past successes and to continue providing students with opportunities for academic, physical, and spiritual growth, in order to prepare them for college and to lead purposeful lives.
