In Drama Club, students have the opportunity to learn the essentials of Theatre! Theatre isn't just about acting; there's so much more to it. Costumers learn how to use a sewing machine to create original costumes for the various shows we have. Make-up artists learn the basics of make-up application, as well as using make-up charts to plan out an actor's look. In Props, students make or research different ways to create various items necessary for a production. Finally, in Tech, students learn how to use a sound cue program to copy, cut, and arrange each and every sound. There is a place for everyone in Drama Club!

In Drama club, students learn the essentials of stagecraft. They will also prepare dialogues and monologues for the Quarterly Showcases.
Each marking period, students will focus on a different aspect of stagecraft. The first quarter will consist of the essentials of stage make-up. Students will learn the different areas of the human face; they will learn each different type of make-up; they will learn how to properly apply make-up to achieve different looks on the stage. They will put their skills to the test by doing the make-up for the students performing in the Showcase. The second quarter will focus on costume design. Students will learn the basics of costume design and will eventually design and create their own pieces, which will be featured in January’s Showcase. Finally, in the third quarter, students will learn set design. They will design their own sets; they will then proceed to construct miniature sets. All of these skills will be put to the test at the end of the year at the Student Art Expo.We will also begin researching requirements for a Drama team. By the end of the year, we will have a core group of students who are able to compete against other schools in dramatic competitions. The competitions range from district to regional to nationals!
