The Governor has mandated school closure for the rest of the academic year. Although we suspected this might happen, it is still unfortunate. Our teachers have already prepared to deliver instruction through the end of the school year. More information will be forthcoming regarding the actual last day of school and final exams.
Students' locker contents and art supplies, where applicable, will be available for pick up on Thursday, March 26 from 7:15 AM until 9:15 AM. This is the only window of opportunity, so please come during this time or designate someone to come to the pick-up. Please have a card in your window to hold up with the last names of the people whose belongings you will be getting. Someone will put them in your trunk. There will be no need to get out of your car or to interact.
Many of you have asked about how best to pay your tuition. Please mail your check to The Carmel School, PO Box 605, Ruther Glen, VA 22546. Mr. Ramsey is in with restricted hours, but he is planning on communicating a way to pay online by the end of this week.
Additional communication will be forthcoming this afternoon regarding re-enrollment. You can expect to see the date extended until April 15 in order to receive the tuition discount. Also, the re-enrollment fee will be lowered to $250. There will be an additional communication to parents who have already re-enrolled later this afternoon.
I am sure there are many questions. Some of these questions probably revolve around events. We will still perform the play, Without Strings, when we return to school this fall. The date is to be determined. We are beginning discussions about graduation. I am sure there will be guidelines that have to be followed concerning commencement. Once more information becomes available, we will make further decisions.
Please be patient with each other as we navigate these unique times. Keeping well and saving lives is everyone's priority. Please keep each other in your prayers.
The mission of The Carmel School is to prepare students for success in our ever-changing world by creating a community supportive of academic, physical, and spiritual growth rooted in Christian values to instill honor and integrity.
