The SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) and ACT (American College Testing) are two important standardized tests that colleges consider when making their enrollment decisions. Traditionally, the ACT was utilized by colleges in the Midwest, while colleges on the East and West coasts preferred the SAT. The ACT is considered to be an achievement
test, assessing students on what they have learned. The SAT is considered to be more of an aptitude
test, gauging what a student is capable of learning. Today, most colleges accept scores from both tests. Beginning in Spring 2016 the SAT will be undergoing significant changes.
The Carmel School will be offering the PSAT to all Sophomores and Juniors on Wednesday, October 11
