Sportsmanship:
At The Carmel School, we strive to instill in our athletes a sense of respect for themselves, their teammates, and their opponents. In our program, this sense of sportsmanship and respectful conduct carries over to the entire student body, and is promoted and reinforced by faculty, parents, coaches, and spectators.
Leaders and Good Citizens:
Athletes who openly and consistently make good decisions regarding personal behavior and life choices set examples for their peers and each other. The Carmel School athlete learns the value of good leadership from examples set by coaches, and the work ethic instilled in each boy or girl results from daily practice, high expectations, the accomplishments of personal and team goals, and consistent behavior.
STEP: " Students Train, Excel, Progress"
Is an after school study hall that is assigned when a student's grade falls below a C in any Academic subject.
STEP as an opportunity for advanced notice and remediation opportunities. Students cannot participate in extra-curricular activities if their grades drop. Such things as chorus, drama and sports are suspended until the student can sufficiently improve a D, F or Incomplete grade to C or better. STEP gives students this opportunity to focus on study.
