  • Position Opening: Music Teacher

    The Carmel School seeks an inspiring music educator to students in grades JK-12, beginning in August 2021 for the 2021-2022 school year. This position plays an integral role in the school’s development and appreciation of musical arts and instruction. This position is responsible for developing students’ enjoyment, appreciation, and musical performance through various planned musical experiences, including singing, moving to music, playing instruments, listening, and other duties directly related to this job description. The candidate will have experience and expertise in both musical and theatrical performing arts and be intimately involved in the instruction and development of school musical and theatrical or dramatic programs. This position involves teaching across all school divisions, Lower School (JK-5), Middle School (6-8), and Upper School (9-12), so the candidate will possess strong qualities of flexibility, adaptability, and organization.

  • Position Opening: Lower School Teacher

    Dr. Melanie Casper, Head of Lower School
    The Carmel School seeks qualified, energetic, and motivated candidates to work with lower school (elementary age) students and instructs pupils in accordance with the mission of the school. 

    Position Objectives:
    • To help each pupil develop competence in his/her skills 
    • To motivate each pupil to attain and develop necessary 21st-century skills toward thinking critically, asking higher-level questions, and collaborating with others to solve problems
    • To encourage each pupil to understand the rules and functions of the classroom
    • To foster students' engagement and inquiry in their studies

    Minimum Requirements:
    A bachelor's degree and teaching experience are required. A Master’s degree, teaching license, and experience in lower elementary classrooms (K-2) are preferred.
