The Tyndall Technology Center

The fully renovated and functioning Carmel School library provides an amazing space for students, faculty, staff, and community! The library houses a collection of over 7,000 new books for all grade and interest levels.  Our brand new collection fully supports the school's curriculum, mission, and philosophy. Students develop information technology skills through access to laptops, Chromebooks, Kindles, and iPods in an educational environment rich with collaboration, critical thinking, and interactive learning.

The library not only contains a new physical collection, but our resources continue to expand beyond the building walls through a digital library program provided by OverDrive. The Carmel School's OverDrive Digital Library allows students to browse, checkout, and download eBooks and audiobooks instantly from the library's custom OverDrive webpage. Students can download and enjoy their favorite books anytime, anywhere on a multitude of compatible devices (PC, Mac, iPod, iPhone, Blackberry, Zune, Nook, Android, Kindle, and hundreds more). With over 34,000 classics and about 500 current titles in our constantly growing collection, the possibilities are endless. Check out The Carmel School's Digital Library, and experience technology at its best!

The Carmel School Middle and Upper School Learning Commons is designed to provide resources and instruction to empower our students to become critical thinkers and self-directed learners.  We encourage our students to ask questions and to use many research tools to find answers.  Students have access to several databases to find scholarly articles and to Brittanica School.

Inquiry and discovery are at the center of our curriculum, and we believe each research project represents a personalized learning journey.  Students learn to find credible information and use it responsibly and ethically by citing sources in the appropriate format.  Through authentic and meaningful projects, our students share what they have learned with others in the school and in the community.  Students might share their learning experiences by creating a slideshow using Google Slides or create a podcast with Audacity. They might take what they have learned and create a video or a webpage using iPads or their computers.  The possibilities are endless.

Our collection comprises over 7,000 books and numerous electronic resources like OverDrive, an app that allows students to browse and check out books beyond the library walls.  We are continuously adding titles to make sure your children can find a book that will turn them into readers for life!
The mission of The Carmel School is to prepare students for success in our ever-changing world by creating a community supportive of
academic, physical, and spiritual growth rooted in Christian values to instill honor and integrity.
